Default Help with Climate Control Module issue

New to the forum. Been lurking on here for tech support for a while, but never ran into an issue where someone on here hasn't already figured out the solution...until now. :-(

Vehicle: 2007 Suburban, LT, 5.3L LC9 engine

Just started happening lately...my climate control unit (electronic, dual zone, located under radio controls) seems to have a mind of its own now. Button pressing results in nothing. The unit will turn on when it feels like it, blowing air out the vents, even when the truck is off (keys are in my pocket). Defrost buttons, fan speed control, temp control...nothing. My concern is that it's still cold enough where ice and frost can accumulate on my windows and with the current status, I won't be able to warm up the interior or heat the glass.

I'm no professional mechanic, but I'm comfortable around vehicles, engines, electronics, etc. Not against pulling the dash apart or checking fuses / switches, but I was hoping someone on here had a similar issue so I can narrow my search a bit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

-Eric

Welcome to the forum Eric.

First suggestion would be to disconnect the positive cable on the battery for 15 to 20 minutes. Then reconnect and see if that has any effect on the problem.

Thanks 73Shark. I'll try that right now.

I pulled the center console apart to remove the digital climate control panel. I wanted to double check if any of the wires / harnesses in the back were showing strange signs of wear or something similar. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I also double checked every fuse (used multimeter) under the hood in case of a worn fuse being the issue. No go, all checked out fine

I'll do the battery idea and report back.

Ah you found it I was going to suggest the one on Amazon, I keep it in my shopping cart, saved for later just so I can monitor its price and keep it ready for purchase should I need it.... my only problem with it, is my on/off button is starting to wear just a tiny bit....
