Tahoe & SuburbanThe power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.
Hi Everybody. Hoping this forum is more helpful and nicer than some of the reddit threads lol. I am looking to get a suburban for my family and for business purposes. I live in Socal and will finance it. I don't want a car that will cause me a headache with repairs. I've heard both sides for these suburbans past 100k miles but figured I'd come straight to the source - I also know that a solid service history is good to look out for but is there anything specific I should look at for service for these cars? I also need something 2019 or newer for uber black purposes (just one part of the business things).
I've only understood pricing via kbb so i may be misinformed as to what is a good deal. I wanted to post here to get the groups thoughts and opinions on what could be a good purchase. Thank you in advance. Cars I'm looking at. Cars I'm looking at
Welcome to Chevy! I have a '93 with 350K on it (on 2nd tranny, motor solid), had an 05 that started burning oil bad at 200k; currently a '20 Tahoe that has needed a front wheel hub and water pump by 94k miles. Probably my favorite is the '93. The '05 was a Z71 and really liked the ride/suspension - If I was working off your list I would look at the two Z's listed. Let us know what you get!
I have a 2020 Premier Plus that our family has been very happy with. We just returned from a 8 day trip in Hawaii where we rented a Grand Wagoneer with 14k miles on it that we were relieved to be rid of. The AC got stuck on front only, the engine went into limp mode twice, and the infotainment had to be rebooted every other trip.
This was a new 2024 Stellantis product and I wouldn't take it as a gift. I've driven a 2022 Premier for a week on vacation in Florida and our family had no complaints. I thought that the 5.3 liter V8 was a bit underpowered than our 6.2 v8 but otherwise we were fine with it.
If you're getting a model newer than 2020, I'd seriously consider a diesel. Unless you're a hot rodder, you might find it an amazing option from a fuel economy perspective.
