Interference or non-interference? That is the question.
So there appears to be this endless quest to determine my engine type. I have Googled this question to death and still do not have a definitive answer. One camp says one thing and the other something else. Is this not a "yes or no" question? Is it more complicated than that? I just want to know which one I have for my own curiosity. Anyone here know with certainty?

I keep meaning to come back to this to update for anyone else seeking out the same information. I had my truck towed to a shop to inspect and replace the timing chain. According to the shop my Tahoe is definitely a non-interference engine. The replaced the timing chain and camshaft sensor and everything has been perfectly fine in that regard for the last year. Hope that information helps someone.

timing chains usually last the lifetime of the engine. Why did you replace it?
