Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Anyone else? I have only had the 07 tahoe for a week and i already had to fill up. got about 300 miles to the first tank. DIC says 12 mpg... ouch. I was expecting a little more than that. i didnt drive too much highway, so i guess its all the stop and go city... and the fact i drive fast. anyone else's mileage improve after the first few weeks?

At 2K miles, I'm still at 12/15 with fairly conservative driving. I did notice that about the only time it goes to V4 is coasting or downhill at hiway speeds contrary to what the Chevy website says.

ya... i tried watching the screen that told me what my mpg was and what engine mode i was in, and it hardly ever went into V4... only coasting. and even on the freeway, i have yet to find the sweet spot to keep it in V4 mode.

I have 15K on my LTZ, It didn't show any real improvement until about 7500 miles. I average about 16.5 miles per gallon and I definitely get into the power almost every time I drive it. I live about 30 miles from work and it's almost all highway so that helps keep my average up. Needless to say your MPG will definitely improve once you get some miles on it. I drove mine to Maine from Michigan about 2500 miles round trip and was able to average 19MPG on that trip doing about 70 MPH. Not the 21 they say but a heck of a lot better than the 11MPG I was getting out of my 05 Suburban with the 8.1!! I miss that truck!!! The Tahoe's nice but I really miss the power!! It seems like mine gets into the V4 mode alot more often now... Not as much as I would like with gas over 3 bucks a gallon, but what can you do?

That's great news if the mileage really does eventually get better. I can't get into the 15mpg range in combination driving. I just went over 5500 miles on the odo. Thanks for a reason to be optimistic!
