Default Loose Front End

I am having a problem with my 2002 Tahoe LT. When driving and I turn the steering wheel evry slightly I then feel something loose in the front end through the steering wheel. I'm not sure if its the steering or suspension as the loose feeling seems to be happening from small or large bumps in the road. It only happened this way for a while and now it seems to be happening even while driving straight. You can now begin to hear it very slightly but I can't quite pinpoint it. Anyone else have this problem or any thoughts as to what it could be. I am fairly good with cars as I constantly work on my weekend race car so I will most likely try and fix this myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

It sounds like it could be the intermediate coupling on the steering shaft. GM had a problem with lubrication and had to relube them. There's a kit for it. Search this forum for more info. It could also be something else.

Upkid2.....My '03 LT with 86k is doing the exact same thing. I've just bought the truck, so it was immediately noticeable...ie, it didn't creep up on me as it would have had I owned the vehicle since new. When looking for this Tahoe, I drove an '01 Suburban with 105k and it was doing the same thing. I haven't jacked the front up yet to check ball joints, steering, etc. but I need to get this sorted out.

There are several references on the forum to a dealer fix for this involving the steering intermediate shaft but I haven't been to my local dealer yet. If you find the cure for this please send me your comments and what the dealer said (if you go this route). I may be able to work on mine this weekend and will post anything I find.
