I AM SICK!!! I just washed my 1 month old black LTZ by hand and the lower panels behind the front wheels are chiped very badly. I also have a few chips behind the rear wheels also. There must be 15 little chips on each side. I knew the stock wheels stuck out a little but I cant believe how bad it is. I don't like the look but is there a mud flap that works with the factory running boards? If so, any pictures?
Thanks for any help!!!

Yes there are factory flaps for Tahoes with boards and without. I used the front ones designed for no boards as the factory flaps for boards are molded to specifically fit the factory boards. The rear ones are the same either way. They do a good job of deflecting rocks and sand and most other road crap. ![Smile](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

tahoe07,
It lloks like you used some clear vinyl protective film (like ClearBra) under the paint where the mudflaps mount, no?
If so' that is a pretty good idea IMHO.

Affrimative. I have a large sheet of 3M protective film. I use it anywhere I'm placing something over painted parts. Comes in real handy.
I didn't press that one down before the pics. It will "disappear" once it is pressed in real well.

There is another option if you don't like the looks of mud flaps. Similar to tahoe07 did before he installed the mud flaps you can have a professional tint shop install a clear stone guard & forget the mudflaps all together. Although you will be covering up all of the existing chips. you may be able to touch them up prior to installing the clear film. I had a shop install the 3M brand on the hood, grill, headlights, mirrors and behind the front and rear tires. It was a bit expensive, $350.00 if I remember correctly, but well worth it in my book! It has worked really well to this point and have had it off road, in the dunes and in the cinder covered snowy roads.
Good luck with whatever you decide on.
