Newbie bought a 2001 Suburban.....
....with 100,000 miles in excellent interior and exterior condition. Paid $9,500 primarily because it had a car fax showing all maintenance done at the dealership with 3,000 oil changes. The used car dealer changes the water pump before sale. Upon use and further inspection I hear thing I didn't notice before. Here are some of my observations:
radio/clock display goes blank periodically
rear door doesn't unlock with the fob (only with the key)
high pitched winding sound upon acceleration
A "gurgling" sound when the ac is switched on
a "servo sound" kind of like it is searching
The check engine light came on with an emission code...
Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you in advance
Also what is the best and least expensive DIY manual for this vehicle?
Did I pay too much for this? (afraid to hear the answer

I got my 01 for 5k with 50k more miles.
mine gurgles too, prolly coolant going to the heater core etc... I haven't lost any coolant. does it when I use the heater too.
does the whining come thru the speakers??? if so check grounds. (possibly related to the radio display going out)
as for the rear door not unlocking maybe it's the motor for it...
what motor didya get?

Roadhound: Welcome to the forum.
A/C gurgling is OK if it goes away after about a minute.
Does the rear door unlock w/ the interior switch?
Get the GM Factory Service Manual.
Try Googling your DTC if you know it, otherwise most auto parts stores will scan for free.
