Default OEM 20" wheels and 4x4 off roading

I think that I saw/read or heard that the Suburban/Tahoe with the OEM 20" wheel package isn't meant to take off road (i.e. 4 wheeling). Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

I've done it, but wouldn't really reccomend purchasing this vehicle for off roading.

True story, don't off-road with the 20" wheel/tire package bad things can happen to them.
One thing that all great off-road capable vehicles have in common is a lot of side-wall.

Thanks. Per GM/Chevrolet: Based on our current product resources the 20-inch factory-installed wheels are not designed and intended for off-road driving. I also understand that there are All Season tires on the 20" wheels and not M+S tires. ZX1100F1 hit the nail on the head about not having a lot of side-wall.

j28s; re your same question in Suburban forum posting, i suggested buying 17's with some 35's or 37's-if they'll fit on your truck (clearance issue?).
