Default Oil Sending Unit ?

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum. I have a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban.

Here is my question: The oil guage in the car is acting up. It moves really fast and doesn't stay in one place. The people at the shop said it is the oil sending unit. They said it is really easy to replace.

I was just wondering, where exactly is the oil sending unit ? Does anyone have any diagrams ?

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure on the new engines but on the old SBCs, the sender port was in the center of the block near the distributor. Another place to look would be near the oil filter.
