Default Power folding mirrors have officially gone bad

My Power folding mirrors on my '07 Tahoe are giving me all sorts of problems. Everytime I press the button to fold them in they just buzz as if they are trying to close but they don't even budge. Also, I have that funtion engaged where the mirrors tilt downward when I am reversing and now when I reverse the mirrors just buzz and click and dont tilt downward, and if they happen to tilt downward which is rare, the mirrors get stuck in that position and don't move back to the regular position. Has anyone had this problem? I was thinking about replacing the window motors but I was hoping it would be more of a simple fix.

There might be a clutch that's slipping that's making the buzz/click noise. Have you tried to push on the mirror while putting in reverse?

No I have not tried that. I'm not sure how fragile the motor gears are so I'm kinda afraid to do irreversible damage to it but I guess I can't do any worse than they already are....

You said "mirrors", does that mean that both of the mirrors are exhibiting the same problem folding or is it just one of them?

Both mirrors are exhibiting similar problems. However, the passenger mirror is still capable of folding in (most of the time) where as the driver side gets stuck and wont fold in and then the driver side mirror will still tilt downward when i put it in reverse where as the passenger mirror gets stuck.

m1240macv@gmail.com,

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue with your vehicle. Are they making a noise or are they completely inoperative?
