programers for gas trucks are a big NOOOOOOOOOOOO...there is a few fellers ehre on the site that went with black bear tunes... and they are VERY satisfied with it.. i'd look into of the tunes if your gonna spend $300-$500 bucks of a programer........

its a chip... and the site is http://www.blackbearperformance.com/ from the people on ehre that have it they say its worth every penny..aslong as your truck is a 1996 and newer

it is a handheld computer programmer. you put in the things you want step by step and it will programe those things into the pcm. it can do what it list. it comes pre-programed with the things it can do for your truck. there not bad, but I never really felt much gain from them. you do get some gain, but from what I have herd you get alot more gain and at a better price if you go with a custom pcm. as they can do all that plus some. the thing about a custom pcm is you pay a price and done. with the programmer you could sell it down the road and get some of your money back. I sold mine used about 3 months ago for $275 so I only lost $100 on having it for a few years. The programmer will also read DTC so that is nice. I have had one for my last two truck (9years). but if I need one again I think I will be doing a custom pcm.
