Hi guys, about a 1-2 months ago i got a GMPP intake installed and am now looking at the exhausts that gm offers on gmpartsdirect.com, ive got my eye on the touring one.
after bringing this up with a friend, he said that i should get new headers because it goes hand in hand w/a new exhaust system, he said it would add more growl/better airflow/more horses, etc.
There was a website that was affiliated with GM that allowed you to hear how the exhausts sounded when installed....i heard the touring on an 07 yukon and it sounded really nice, didnt feel like it needed to replace its headers.
Im not trying to get every little bit of power out of my truck, i just want a nice deep noise with a little boost in HP and throttle response, im more of a calm driver if anything, i also want the exhaust system to be from GM (as is the intake), ive got a little GM theme going.
So could someone help me clarify? Thanks

If you are just looking for better sound you get skip the headers to acomplish what you want. I think most people are just installing cat back kits

If you want to save money, why not just get a Magnaflow muffler or like and have a shop install. Lot cheaper. That's what a lot of folks on the forums have done.
