Default quick connect retaining clip leak

New to this forum but I have been searching on this issue. So I have a 1996 chevy tahoe 5.7 2wd and the quick connect wad leaking due to a worn out retaing clip, I replaced about a month ago and it seemed fine all of a sudden today I look in my engine bay and it is leaking again. Do I need a new gasket to go with a new clip, I mean it shouldn't be leaking again already right? Any help would be apreciated, also would this little of a leak cause fluctuations in my running temp?

Default

Well I replaced the whole metal fitting, of course it broke off at the manifold and I had to use the hack saw method to remove it, that sucked, why do these quick connects feel so loose, even brand. new
