Default Radio Problem

Does anyone have any insight on how to fix a aftermarket radio problem I am having? I have a 2002 Tahoe LT, and recently replaced the stock head unit with a Pioneer Navigation touch screen unit, and now when I start my truck, I dont always get any sound at all. I have to turn it off, wait about 10 seconds, then start it up again. Sometimes, I have to do this 2 or 3 times before I get any music or sound from the speakers. I would also like to try and replace my stock amp, but I dont know where it is. I am looking for a new sub woofer for the trunk because the stock one is pretty shot.

I believe the stock amp is behind the glove box. I have also been searching for a replacement sub but with the low power the stock one is putting out certainly limits the options. My sub is completely shot.

Not sure what would be keeping you from getting sound, that is certainly odd.
