Default Random question about '90s Suburban and Tahoe front end designs

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site--found it after wondering for a long time why some '90s Suburbans and Tahoes have different front end designs than others. I included two pictures comparing the '90s designs I've seen. Could someone tell me why there were two different front end designs? I'm most curious about the design in the bottom picture, because I see far fewer of those. Sometimes I've seen them as government vehicles. Does that front end style have a name?

Thanks!

Different trim levels. LS LT LTZ and variations in each have different front ends. Base models get single big headlights for example and up level got composite headlights.
