Default rear axle shaft / front hub swap

Greetings,

I have been saving for a new car and fortunately I saved too much. I have kept my 96 C1500 Suburban and have decided to use that money to make it as "new" as possible by replacing all the parts that are designed to wear out. I also plan to put a 4" lift and I was wondering that if its possible to swap the front hubs and the rear axle shafts with the K1500 parts or would i be better off going to a junk yard and buying the 4wd system from a z71. Reason why I ask is because I have a set of the 16" 2000 Tahoe z71 wheels and Id like to keep those as replacing the axles/hubs might be cheaper. Will the splines match the gears in the rear diff?

That my friend is a very big, very expensive, very involved, time consuming project turning the two wheel drive into four money wise you might want to look at buying what you want to end up with and going from there

If this would be a conversion from 2 to 4 wheel drive it would be very difficult to use the front IFS set up. There are a lot of hangers to support the front end that would be hard to set up. I would suggest that if you go this route that you consider a front solid axle set up. I will be posting a thread sometime this weekend showing how I did the swap on my Tahoe.
