Default well

as far as I know all of them can do remote start.

you just need a key fob with that button, then a tech2 programmer (or your dealer) to program the truck to enable it.

But I've never tested this, as I bought a LTZ

See your dealer if you would like to add the manufacturer’s remote vehicle start feature to your vehicle.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

You can add an aftermarket at any time..
The AP3 or AP8 are RPO or Regular Production Option's are the designations for:
AP3 Remote vehicle starter system ( means you have remote already)
AP8 Remote vehicle starter prep package ( means you need a few more items i.e. key fob and programming added)

The RPO's are located in the glove box, see attached picture...
If you want factory remote you will most likely have to go to the dealer to get the programming.
