Service Stabilitrak?
Does anyone know what the common problem isthat might cause the "Service Stabilitrak" warning on my '04 Tahoe LS? I took it to "VatoZone" for a run of the codes, but nothing showed up. My front suspension pops when I make a sharp left turn @ slow speeds...could this be a factor? Also, my left tie rod (outer), and front upper& lower ball joints (both sides)show signs of leakage. Could these be factors...I am replacing the outer & inner tie rods tomorrow, should I go ahead and replace the upper / lower ball joints as well?
The grease leaking out of the rubber cups on the ball joints and tie-rod end probably does not indicate anything is wrong other than the last place that changed your oil and greased your chassis just got a little rambunctious with the grease gun.
Check and make sure that all of your tire pressures match and are between 30 and 33psi, this is one of the most common problems, the Stabilitrak system will also indicate an error if anything abnormal is sensed in the way the engine is operating.
