Shock absorbers.
The rear shocks on my ’97 K1500 LT were shot. I bought it a couple years ago with 74, miles on it and now it’s probably pushing 78k.
The rear was kinda bouncing a bit too much when I bought it, but after the wife drove it all day with family, eight adults, they were really shot.
Anyways, I put new shocks on the rear (wow, what a difference) and am wondering if I should change the fronts.
I read that if a vehicle nosedives when braking it’s a sign, but I don’t know if that would show up on a 4x4, so I thought I’d just ask here.
Thanks,
Marko

I'd say yes, replace the front Shocks as well. There are several "quirky" things that can occur, when you have Shocks that control differently.
Make sure that the Fronts are matched to the rears you bought.

I’m kinda broke, so what I put on the rear were the Monroe-matic plus 'cause a buddy of mine said they’re good shocks.
Anyways, they were like ~$33 each, but I’m thinking maybe I should do a little better for the front since there’s more weight up there.
Now I don’t go off-roading, I only drive ~1,500 miles per year and pull a trailer (6.5’x10’ utility or 6’x10’ enclosed, not super-heavy loads) maybe ten times per year, and that just locally, so that might make a difference in what you’d recommend.
I also don’t want to compromise the nice car-like ride, since most-all my driving is just normal type.
If the rear shocks aren’t that great, as cheap as they were I could just replace them in a couple/few years, but I’m thinking I’ll do the front right this time.
So what you y’all think I should put on the front to suit my purpose? Or would the matching Monroe-Matic Plus shocks be good enough?
Thanks...
