Question Starting issues on a 99' Tahoe LT

Hello, I am new to this forum, but am having an issue. I recently bought a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT 5.7L. It always started instantly with no issues. The other day, I had a tune up performed at the shop, due to a lack of maintenance records and for preventative maintenance. I drove it home a couple miles away, and it sit for a couple of days. Started fine, went to wal-mart, came back out, and now it won't start. It turns over fine and starts to go, but then dies out like it's not firing. Tried hitting the gas to see if it would help fire and nothing. I put a brand new battery on it and checked the cable connectors for corrosion. After about ten minutes of trying, it fired up and I drove it home. This morning I went out and it took a couple of tries to get it going, then after several stops and restarts, I couldn't get it to act up again. I'm thinking the shop got something off in the tune up, a gap, bad plug, or something, because I have never had any issues with it starting and this only started after the tuneup. Any ideas?

Could just be coincidence. Maybe a clogged fuel filter.

Possibly so. I did put a can of sea foam in the tank at the last fill up, and was at a half of a tank when this happened, so maybe some junk got moved through.

Easy stuff first. Change the filter and let us know. Sounds like a fuel issue

No problem. Just get back either way. If its solved. Might help someone else having your symptoms.

Very true. I have good compression, good spark, so it must be fuel related.

Check the Ignition control module and/or ignition Coil.... Common issue.

Look for corrosion on the coil at the coil wire terminal.

I couldn't get it to do it again these past few days until she did it again last night. I took it to the shop this morning to see what may be going on. The security light comes on sometimes for no apparent reason, which I have read will lock you out from starting for ten minutes. My wife's malibu locked up the ignition once from some stupid security feature and I had to replace the whole ignition. I will report the results back, and maybe it could help someone else out in the future. Thanks guys!

Alright, the verdict is in. It was a security issue. The original key was getting worn, therefore when I used that key, the theft system would automatically keep it from starting for about ten minutes. Go figure, but hey it's much better than a weak fuel pump or something $$$$. I appreciate all the help and answers!
