Angry Stuck plug wires 5.3 Suburban 2000

I have been busting my guts trying to pull the plugs out. I got two of eight out but the rest I just can't get. I've tried twisting and rotating and I don't know what else to do. The plug wires themselves are in good enough condition that I don't want to replace them. Any tips or ideas?

I'd take some WD-40 with the straw in the nozzle, and spray just a little bit inside the boot, between the wire, and boot at the plug

try a hook shaped pic to unseat the boot, most likely you are going to loose a few of them...When you do replace them apply a coating of dielectric gel to the inside of the boot to help removal next time...

Patkz: Welcome to the forum.

They make a tool that has a U-shaped fork at a right angle to the shaft. Looks like a screwdriver w/ the fork at the end of it. Think I got mine from JC Whitney years ago.

a small prybar and slight force on the wire has never failed me...i know it sounds weird without seeing it done but our lead tech showed me it forever ago and have had no issues since

I got one bank of plug wires out and replaced the plugs, used pliers and a flathead i bent. I quite possibly developed a hernia in the process but luckily there's no known damage to the plug wires! The Suburban's got ~240k on the block/chassis and i've been really trying to spend as little as possible to keep it going as it's going to be replaced in a year or so.

@73shark, thanks for welcome!
@kevinkpk, the wd-40 didn't really work out for me with the metal sleeves so tightly surrounding the wires but I am definitely going to remember that next time I have a problem with stuck plug wires on another car.

Glad you got /em off. Don't forget in2pro's suggestion about the dielectric grease. Silicone grease works to.
