tahoe LS factory nav install

Hi. I'm looking to install a factory NAV unit part 5882766. Will this fit and work with my LS model? It came with a 6disk changer/mp3 player/satellite radio.

Will the NAV have satellite radio? Can I use that antenna for the NAV gps antenna?

Based on the other posts looks like I'll need:
15882766 Nav radio with DVD playback 15201798 GPS Antenna 15173619 Reiw View Camera
TECH 2 programming and the connectors from JP Customs?

Also, can I use my DVD disk off my NAV unit off my 2006 truck nav unit??? Or make a copy of it???

I hate to take out the 6-disk changer.....nice to have 12 albums x 6 disks in the unit at all times. It'll be for sale soon.

Check out the "install OEM Nav radio" thread at the top of the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I have the Nav radio with rear DVD and XM. So I'm pretty sure you can put one in your LS. You will lose the 6 disc changer but you can plug an ipod, etc in the Aux jack. There are other aftermarket answers, just search thru the forum.

Will leave the rest of your questions for someone more knowledgeable than me. ZX/Dave or biglg can probably help you.

Ok. Thanks. By the way, when you say rear DVD does that mean you have a rear monitor with playback coming off the NAV unit?

Or do you have another DVD player in the back with the rear monitors? Thanks.

The RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) has an overhead screen that receives the info from the DVD player in the Nav radio unit. But it uses the same slot as the CD player, not the DVD that stays in the Nav unit. Some have put in headrest monitors or an additional screen for the third row seats. Some aftermarket monitors have the DVD player built in to the overhead unit also.

I believe you need the factory bose system as well. I read a post from ZX a few days ago and he said the factory nav does not have any power and needs an amp to work.

I sounds like you skimmed the other thread. there are answers to most of your question in the other thread.

You need Bose. The nav will be able to recieve XM. You need a Nav antenna and the XM antenna.Nav goes under front panel on upper dash. the disk is different for 06s.

How do I know if my LS has a bose amp? It does have 8 speakers and the indash 6-disk CD/MP3 changer.
