why not use the recommended pressure on the placard? I run 20's on my ram 2500 truck. 40 psi would be plenty with no load for 1500. I keep mine at the placard...60psi in case i need to tow.

Default Thanks

I was think to follow the door psi spec's but they only list 17"s and the manual mentions 275/55/20 but not the amount of psi

The tires should indicate the recommended PSI on the sidewall.

the tires list the maximum inflation pressure for the tire. He put an LT rated tire on the truck...the max pressure is 80psi for a load range E tire...the truck will ride like a lumber wagon at 80 psi.

the door placard list the inflation pressure for the tire based on the load of the vehicle which hasn't changed because you changed tire diameter. Next thing you need to do is have someone with a scan tool; go into the ebcm and change the tire size setting. this will correct your speedometer.

He put ATS tires on, nowhere does he say LT rated tires. Most (all?) Of that size are P rated or XL rated with 50 psi max.
