Default Tryng to sort A/C system

Having issues with my 06 Burb A/C system.
The compressor will engage and disengage within a few seconds.Sometimes air will start to cool then stop. Sometimes no cool at all.
So far what I have done:
Changed low side schrader valve - was leaking.
Evacuated and refilled A/C system with 2.8 lbs of freon - has frt/rear A/C - Going to have freon level checked again Monday.
Changed pressure switch on drier/accumulator

Now at a loss to what is causing compressor to not stay engaged

What are your high and low A/C pressures at now?

Don't know yet. will have to wait time Monday morning. I'll check freon level and pressures through my workplace machine.

if the system is undercharged it will short cycle...cycle on and off rapidly......approx every 10 seconds or so. low charge creates a low pressure on the suction side...low psi shuts off the compressor...compressor stops and pressure builds, then comp starts restarts.

The compressor will engage when turning on AC then almost immediately disengage. AC blows hot.
I'll hopefully know more tomorrow.

So weird thing today.
Took the Burb out this morning to get AC level double checked and a smog test done. Passed emissions no problem.
Found out the tech is on vacation this weekend so I didn't get the air conditioning looked at. The weird part is later in the morning we had to run some errands and I decided to turn on the AC just to check it.
Lo and behold the air was working. AC was turned on, recirculation on and front fan on level 3. Rear AC off. It would start to get a bit warmer when sitting in stopped traffic. To me, this would indicate the freon level is probably OK.

The only real difference is this past week has been ambient air temps.
Today temps were cooler, between 80-90 degrees. Earlier this week the air temps have been 100-110 degrees and the air has been blowing hot air.

to me it indicates possible low charge level or old tired compressor or poor air flow thru the rad/poor fan performance. the compressor can be ruled out by holding the rpm at 2500rpm...if the cold comes back and the charge level has been verified...the compressor is tired.

Checked out the high pressure switch. Scan tool showed fluctuating voltage. Looks like it was a bad connection at the switch. Checked connection and now all is well. AC is functioning great.
