Default updating onstar?

Hello. I have a 2003 Suburban 2500 with onstar. I want to activate it but when you push the blue button it says "can't connect to onstar". I have contacted them and they said it needs some sort of software update or something like that. does anyone have a general idea how much that will cost at my local GM dealer. thanks.

depends completely on the dealer, you'd be better off calling and asking them

I suspect the cost will greatly outweigh the benefit...
There is no incentive for the auto manufactures to stay up todate on these systems, its easier to sell you a new vehicle....
