What tires to put on?
I'm about to buy new rims and tires for my 07 SUB. The are 22'', but i don't know, what size to get.
My option is 285x45 R22 or 305x45 R22
How's is effect a gas millage ?
Is anybody have some PIC with those sizes ?
here is tires (my opinion)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Qty=4&i1_Qty=4
and wheels
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250639193418
Thx

It will affect gas mileage negatively due to the extra weight.
The 285s might work w/ a little heat gun treatment on the inner fender liners to gain some clearance. 305s probably not.
Of course it all depends on the wheel offset.

hmmm, im used tire calculator and here is a result:
Looks like, there look at the Overall diameter differences btw original 265x70R17 and 305x45R22. Looks like just a 1.20 inch. Is there possible rubbing ???

I have 22x9.5 with a +30 offset with 305/45/22 and they do not rub. The overall diameter is a little bit taller so you'll loose minimal on the gas mileage but your speedo will be off by 3%....not a big deal.
For the original question....I recommend Continental Cross Contact. I have a 2nd set on now for my 07 Tahoe and the first set lasted 40K. Love the thread pattern and you can rotate all around.....they are non-directional.
Good luck

Thx dude
Well, ill go with 305x40 R22 which is the same overall diameter, so tacho should show same as original 265x70 R17.
About the tires:
Im looking for summer tires for those 22'' and for 17'' ill buy winter (snow) tires. Are they (Continental Cross Contact) quiet after 20-30k miles ?
Thx
