Default Heads-up Display (HUD) in 2016 Suburban LT

Greetings forum members!

We just purchased a new Suburban to replace our recently destroyed 2003 Suburban LT, which served us well up and to the collision that ended it's life. The new model has lots of safety enhancements and is quite the "cowboy Cadillac" (according to my cousin). So far, we're very pleased with the new 'burb!

Anyway, on to my question... the vehicle has a collision warning system that includes a flashing warning system that utilizes a form of GM's HUD. Is it possible to program if the vehicle's module in such a way as to activate a fully functional HUD?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Kindly,

Joseph

I bought a '16 Tahoe in December, and looked at the HUD and the collision warning system. I ended up without the HUD because I could not justify the cost or delay/wait to find one with the HUD. That said, they are two separate systems, and you cannot make the red LEDs into a HUD, the parts just aren't there. There are some aftermarket HUDs using smartphones coming on the market, like this one that should start shipping in the next month or two: HUDWAY Glass ? Head-Up Display made available for any car

Thanks for your reply, John. I was sort of thinking the 2 systems might employ different displays, but asked anyway. The HUD was not available on our model unless we went to the LTz, which we also felt was not a great value since that model included several features we flat-out did not want. Seems to me tha GM misses the boat when it comes to available options and how they're packaged.

Hope you're enjoying your new Tahoe, and thanks again for your reply!
