I have a 2000 tracker 2dr 2wd. Once in a while, after the engine starts, when the starter disengages, you can hear the starter
gear spin off the fly wheel.

It does not seem to be a problem, has anyone else seen this.

Maybe the starter is not disengaging fast enough.
Maybe it need alittle cleaning and grease.
Might buy a new starter to keep around.

 

Learning how to start the tracker better, crank it for 5-8 seconds, then it starts fine...
