I can move the shift lever, but the gear indicator doesn't not move, and the truck wont go in gear. I can feel and hear clicking in the steering column when I press the thumb button, but nothing is working. Any help out there? Thanks.

 

I had that problem with an 03 Trailblazer many years ago. The cable broke off where it connected at the transmission. I didn't want to replace the cable so I modified the lever at the transmission to accept a shoulder bolt. I reconnected it and never had a problem again.
