Default 2002 electrical

My 2002 blazer acts as though it has a short. It ran the battery down twice after the back glass was opened and closed. My husband took the back of the back gate off looking for a direct short and was unable to find any exposed wires. It continued working for a couple of weeks then I got in it to go to work and the guages were flucuating and it would not start. Would like to figure it out and fix it before the bad weather starts. Love this vehicle as it is so versatile and don't want to trade. Leslie

I am having similar problems with my 2001 S-10 extreme. I have intermittent gages and my battery keeps draing down and have to replace. My charging system is good so I do not know what is happening. I posted my problem today and hope to hear from someone who figures this out.

My husband has unhooked the back wiper motor and has installed a new battery. No more problems with the guages going funky or the battery running down.
