2005 Envoy XL SLE, 2wd, 4.2L I6
My mom's Envoy has a gas gauge problem. Its just sitting on empty. I know there are several things that can cause this, but its not showing the cardinal signs of the stepper motor in the gauge assembly going out.
Anyone want to help me establish a list of other possible culprits here?

run a bottle or 2 of Techron fuel system cleaner...
if theres sulfur buildup on the sensor- then the tecrhon will clean it and the gauge will work again...
If it continues to not work-- most likely cause is a bad fuel level sender.

It started back working on its own yesterday, now its on empty again today. I bought a bottle of fuel system cleaner and I'll get her to put it in on the next fillup.
