Problem
I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer and a few months back I had an issue with the vehicle losing acceleration going up a steep hill. I was on cruise and everything was fine and all of a sudden the vehicle starts slowing down and I tried pressing my gas and it would revv up but it wouldn't go (cruise light was still on) I hit my break and pulled off to the side of the road and called my husband. He had me turn the vehicle off and back on and everything was fine (at this time I wasn't on quite as bad of a hill) I was running low on fuel so we thought that a piece of dirt has gotten sucked up or something... everything was fine until here about a week ago.
I was on my way to work and in the SAME EXACT spot it happened again, I pulled off the side of the road put my vehicle in park revved it up and put it back in drive and everything was fine, then on the way home there was another steeper hill and it did the same thing. Later that evening my husband and I traveled back the same route (63 miles round trip) and it did the same thing over and back in the same exact spots. He said the next time to try it without using cruise so I did and the same thing happened. I do not have trouble any other time except for those two spots and I have no trouble with the vehicle starting, idling... any ideas??????????

Check your transmission fluid to see if it is red or brown. Also check the fluid level. On a hill, if the fluid is low, the fluid runs away from the pickup and the transmission slips. I had an 03 Trailblazer and just about everything went bad on it including the transmission at 52,000 miles. Just after warranty!
Thanks for the info. Mine currenlty has 103333 on it and we have had to replace both wheel bearings on the front and ball joints and then the other normal stuff...
We have already checked the transmission fluid which we know something is going on because it is over full and it is thin as if some other fluid has been leaking somehow and it just doesn't look right so we are going to drain it and get a new filter.
From local mechanics advice we are starting with the most common thing right now which is a fuel filter but we are definelty going to drain the trans etc.
Thanks for the info!!!

We replaced the fuel filter and also drained the transmission fluid and got a new seal/filter/fluid and I have not had any issues since. We are pretty sure the fuel filter did the trick but the fluid/filter needed a change too.
