Default Vague question for trailblazer/envoy owners

We're in need of a vehicle with a larger back seat than the almost non existent one on our Jeep Cherokee...so I was thinking trailblazer or envoy because for 8-10k I can get one with relatively low mileage like 47k or just higher.

So I have a buddy that is dead set on steering me away from one because he says they are notorious for the motors dying in them and notorious for other expensive issues. I've spoken to at least two guys that own them, and one of those guys has a brother that works for GM that owns one...nothing bad has come from any of those 3 people.

Anyone here have experience owning one of these vehicles and can help shed some light?

i had an 02 envoy couple years ago. no problems other than gas cap needed replaced. towed a 4000 pound camp trailer with ease, lots of room, rode like a dream. it was a great rig. never really heard any problems with them. loved that car.

2004 for me, 2005 for my wife. Both very good trucks. I'm almost at 100,000 and she's not far off either and both are still moving along. Both with the L6 and as long as you keep up with the maintenance, everything should be ok! Replaced the brakes on hers a couple weeks ago, mine next week...new sneakers soon...more miles to go!

the 4.2L l6 engine is great on my 2002 trailblazer other than needing a new water pump a month ago and a fan clutch about a year ago oh and the fuel sender gauge went bad 5 months ago but fixed it myself with my dad in about four hours 2 weeks ago, just do ur research on the model year and look out for the tranny. id recomment the vehicle to you.
