2005 Uplander Ameri Van (El Dorado Wheelchair Conversion)
Greetings all.
I just purchased a private party 2005 Uplander LS w/ 168K mi. This is a "Ameri Van" model w/ the conversion done by "El Dorado Industries" at their Kansas facility (per label). It has the lowered floor w/ side fold-up, powered wheelchair ramp. Has good 3.5L engine and strong, smooth, tranny (Knock wood). No accidents per Carfax, and a Arizona car most of its life. My other vehicles are 2005 and 2014 Toyota Siennas. Also my 88K mi 1990 Honda Accord. I haven't been a GM guy since I sold my 1996 5.7L LT1 Roadmaster Wagon four years ago.
For the price I paid for the van I have accepted many things that need to be addressed. I hope there are CF members who have "been there, done that": suspension, interior electrical, paint/wheel restoration, junkyard enthusiasts, etc.
See you in the threads!! Scott.
