what the brand names of the speakers for 2008 Equinox LT? Are they Pioneer six speakers?

Depends on what came on the vehicle. If you had the option of the speaker upgrade, then yes, they are Pioneers. Otherwise, the speakers are I think Delphi or Delco Electronics

exactly what euro said....the 7 speaker pioneer package comes standard in the LTZ models andis optional for the 1LT,2LT and the sport models. The LS models only come with the base speaker package

Are the Pioneers speakers better then the 6 speakers? I am going to trade in my 2008 for the 2009, GM said they have made a lot of impovements in fixing the rearnoise problem for 2009 model. If the Pioneers are a whole lot better then the 6 speakers, I will get a LT one with 7 Pioneers system.

I personally think it sounds great. With the pioneer system, you get the subwoofer in the rear which adds a lot to the overall sound of the system
