Default leak free vortec oil pan?

So this is my first post here. I have posted several times about this on another site, but I didnt really get the specific info I needed. I need some folks who love these vortec engines.

Heres what I got. My4.3l vortec oil pan has leaked since I had it installed on a new crate engine. I figured the tech left off the RTV sealant that is recommended. 1 inch strips where the pan meets the block and front/rear covers.

I recently dropped the pan to fix this annoying leak; at the same time I pulled the trans and replaced the flexplate. I was right about the lack of rtv in the corners.
I added a new gasket, rtv in the corners, torqued it to specs in the correct order........and now its leaking worse than before.

What am I missing???
Vortec Pros??
