Default Replacement Keys

Hey Guys,

My kids lost BOTH sets of keys for our 2012 Express 3500 LT. Has the remote startup installed. I've read in various places on the internet it is just as easy (if not easier) to just order uncut transponder keys off the internet and another remote. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have heard that you can go to the dealer and they can make keys by using your vin number. If you get the uncut keys, you still need to pay someone to cut them.

yup, the dealer can do it with your vin. Just make sure to bring your title they *should* check to see if it is actually yours. (mine never does)

I'm pretty sure most of the replies on this topic are spam bots. The users have a post count of one, and the posts have web links shilling some business.

A 2012 will have a chip in the key. A locksmith won't help. You need to go to the dealer and get new keys. The key needs cutting plus the chip coded to the vehicle. Take your insurance or title documents.
