Default Surging? I think

Whats up guys, 99 express 4.3 with 207k. Threw a code last week for oxygen sensor, turned out my egr valve was remaining closed, replaced that drove 40 miles light went off, 75 miles later light is back on and the van has a strange surge. If i am maintaining a speed of say 65 mph the van will go into overdrive and it will feel like its getting sudden surges of rpms bouncing up and down, I haven't had a chance to get it scanned. Anybody ever experience this? I plan to get it scanned on Monday but i'd just like a little knowledge beforehand

Not sure. Did you clear the codes after the first scan?
o2 sensors are cheap, so I would replace the upstream one and see if things improve.
Post the results of the scan monday....
