Default Check this one out 355 probs.....

I have a 355 in a Chevy truck that won't start, I am getting spark, but don't know if it is hot enough, I am getting fuel, but don't know if it is too much or not enough, the only time it sounds like it might start is when you pump the gas 4-6 times then hold the pedal to the floor while you turn it over.... I have check everything as far as timing and vacuum lines.... any and all ideas will be considered.... Thanks

Carb or EFI? Could be a bad rotor cap or bad coil, fuel filter maybe?

Watch for brittle wires and connections on those old looms too.

Alright guys, you have given me a few ideas, 1 I know every single wire is in tack and not damaged, it has a brand new harness, but.... I have not checked to see if the coil wire is holding a good 12v when it is actually turning over, I know it gets it with the key on, but not sure when it turns over, remember the cab is a 96, frame an 85, motor dated as an 79..... So I am running the neccesary wires from the ecm..... I have not checked the obvious crap..... Fuses????? Also to note on the spark color..... YELLOW
