Big transmission problems with 2006
It was slipping and banging into gear at 118,000 miles. A few other telltale signs and we discovered we needed a new/rebuilt transmission. Well, the transmission shop has had the car 8 days and they still can't seem to get it right. First we were told the car would be ready in two days. Then we were told it was done, but it wasn't shifting "to their standard". Next day we were told there was a problem with the valve body. Next day we were told the valve body they put in was the wrong one and the right one would be shipped next day air. Today they tell us that it's still not going into gear properly. What the hell is going on???? Is it always this difficult to get a rebuilt to operate or am I about to get screwed? Thanks for any help!

I'm sure they are doing everything they can. It sounds like they have some dedicated technicians. I understand it is an inconvenience, but at least they want to get the job done right.
Please keep us posted.

Update...we picked up the car last night and brought it back this morning. Last night it was fine, but when we were backing out of the driveway this morning the gears slipped again. It got worse as we drove. Now they claim a valve is sticking. More later!

Got some great news today When they unstuck the valve something else went wrong. Something with a gasket. Long story short...they are putting in a brand new transmission on Monday with a lifetime warranty at no extra charge. I'm a happy lady
