A/C refrigerant leak?

A/C refrigerant leak?
Hi there.
Have been reviewing many posts about blowers not working properly at various levels on control ****. My issue is more that I don't get cold air -- blower seems to be working fine. Colleague mentioned R-12 as a possibility -- suggested buying some at Wal-Mart. Didn't know you could get that sort of thing at the store -- a bit naive on this.
Any suggestions/insights/DIY info, is greatly appreciated!

RE: A/C refrigerant leak?
Hi again -- it's HOT! Any suggestions on a possible refrigerant leak, are greatly appreciated! Is this a DIY project, do you think, or should I take it in to the mechanic?
Thanks for any info.

Yes you can buy coolant recharge kits any auto supply place ... even Walmart.
Just don't get the stuff with sealant.
If you're not really sure what you're doing you might consider spending extra having it done by a professional ... besides there may be other issues.
