2003 CHEVY S10 AUTO transmission advice !
Hey everyone,
I just bought a 2003 Chevy s10 2.2 engine / auto trans / with 117,600 miles on it, runs and shifts great . I know the transmission was serviced but not sure when, so I would like to change the trans fluid and put fully synthetic valvoline fluid. My reasons are : These transmissions typically start having issues around 180,000 or so and I want to try and prevent that. My goal is to treat it now while it's shifting great and in good shape before the wear and tear begins. Would it be a wise decision to start using the synthetic trans fluid now as a possible prevention ?
Thanks
Oren

I would consider Amsoil tranny fluid. And make sure you clean out the pan good and change the filter. S10's had a long neck filter or a short neck. Find out which one you need before you get into this project too far.
