Default Passing Emissions - Do I need Cats??

I have a 1976 Chevy K10 Shortbed with a re-built 350 crate in it, 4 barrel and a 650cfm carb. My question is: do I need to have catalytic converters to pass emissions?? I am located in the state of Arizona. Thanks!! Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!

Maricopa & Pinal counties are the only ones here that test. You don't say what town or city your in. but i would try running it through and just don't ask them anything, cause if asked they will always tell you to put them on, as they don't really know since it's that old. my old 77 didn't have them and it passed just fine
