Default How to troubleshoot 2001 Tahoe after running out of gas

My Tahoe won't start after putting in two gallons of fuel, how do I troubleshoot?

Turn on your key to the run position and wait 10 to 15 seconds and let the fuel pump prime the system. Then try and start it. If that doesn't work, spray some starter fluid or gas into the throttle body, if it runs for a few seconds you need a fuel pump.

Is the vehicle on flat level ground? If it is not level, two gallons may not be enough for the fuel pump to pick up. Oldchevy post sound like good advise too.

Are you sure you ran out of gas, and that it's not a dead fuel pump? They are notorious for failing every 100k or so miles.

If you let the fuel level get too
low, the pump could burn out. (the gas in the tank keeps the pump cool)
...just fyi
