Default Question.. looking to buy 2002 Silverado

I was looking at a 2002 Silverado with a 4.3 V6 and manual transmission with 86,000 miles on it. Is it normal for a rattling bearing sound coming from the transmission after releasing the clutch in first gear? I'm new to trucks and was told that they all do this.

Hi Eamus_Catuli,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Who told you that, the guy trying to sell you the truck?

Sounds like a worn throw-out bearing or a bent shifter fork to me. The sound isn't rare, but it's not normal, or proper, either.
