Default 2010 Silverado dually vs 2011 Silverado dually

I want to trade in my 2008 Silverado 3500 Dually for a 2010. I am trying to find info online about it, I know the 2011 has the higher HP / TQ Duramax, boxed frame, and other goodies, but I am unsure if the 2010 has those upgrades as well. Thank for the help

The 2010 Silverado trucks with diesel engines were produced in a limited amount. The 2011 model year has all of the new additions that you are looking for on them so if you are looking for the 20,000 pound towing rating then you will want to look at the 2011 trucks. I hope that helps you.

Hi glamisfanatic,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Also remember that dealerships are somewhat knot-headed about being sure that financing and purchases in general are much easier for the current model year(should be 2012 soon, yes?) than for the year just prior, such as 2010...

...So if merely saving money by getting an earlier model year is your plan, unless you know something I don't, it's not gonna happen. If there's a solid mechanical reason you want a 2010, be prepared for the dealer to hump you for the full 2011 price.

On that note above, I got my 04 when the 05's were coming in to the lot and they wanted to get rid of the 04's they had I got an 04 that listed on the sticker for 36K with the wheeling and dealing I did and my GM employee discount I paid a little over 23 for the truck. 04 2500 HD with 6.0L 4x4 crew.

I'd say wait til the '11's are going onto the lot then look at dealer inventories of remaining '10's (if that is what you want) then wheel and deal the hell out of them.
