Default Fuel Filter question

Is it possible that the fuel filter is so bad that it completely stops fuel flow? I am not getting any fuel to the carb at all in my 98 K1500 4.3L 4x4. I am hoping it is just the filter and not the actual pump.

Anything is possible although I think it is unlikely that the clogged filter would completely stop the flow of gas. It would restrict it so the engine won't start. It is a cheap fix to change the filter and eliminate the possibility.

Default Fuel Filter question

It' could also be the fuel "sock" filter in the tank. check the fuse for the fuel pump first. Then take the fuel line off where it goes into the inline filter. Turn on the key, if you're still not getting fuel out the open line the problem is likely in the tank.
