Default Rear View Mirror Fault

I have a new 2014 Silverado with all the bells and whistles. The one major fault I have is with the rear view mirror at night. I have it set to see traffic behind me ( of course! ). But all I can really see is the reflection off the cab's rear window, which shows all the bright lights from the radio and the heater controls. All the red and blue and yellow lights are pretty, but it makes the mirror totally useless.

I believe it is a electrochromic mirror. It has the auto-dim function and On-Star

Today I took my truck to the dealer, and all the technicians looked and agreed that there's an issue, and that they don't have a ready fix. They supposedly are checking with higher ups for a solution.

It's simple geometry; I held a torpedo level on the rear cab window, and the bottom is angled rearward by more than an inch. The lights reflected will not shown at a 90 degree angle, but more like a 80 degree downward from the rear window, straight into the lighted radio and HVAC lights.

the left front tire.

the mirror is the only component that can be at fault.
