Default Tranny Problem

First off I'm new to this site. I recently purchased an 04' Silverado 5.3 Z71 back in in November. It has 113,000 on it now. Just the other day I was driving and noticed rough shifting between 1st and 2nd. Shifting through the other gears is smooth. I checked the fluid level and it looks fine. I'm getting my filter and fluid changed tonight or tomorrow. Anything else that you guys might suggest?

Yeah, do the flush. I would also put a trans cooler on there (its a cheap insurance). Your's probably came with one stock, but I would put a better one on there. I have a stock and a B&M next to it as well. Oh, and put synthetic fluid.

Alright so a flush and not a change, because some people were saying I shouldnt flush it and that it would cause damage. Anyways I'm going to go ahead and do the flush then. Thanks alot.

well a flush just gets all of the old fluid out and it pumps all new fluid in at the same time.. if u do just a change all your doin is getting the fluid from the pan out..there is still fluid in the pumps n all of that in the trans

The flush only damages the trans if the shop doesn't know what they're doing or if you haven't been taking care of your trans and allowed build-up (which can come loose). I changed mine when I first got my Tahoe (at a little over 100k) and it's been fine since then (now at 170k).

Thanks for all the insight. Yeah i take it to a buddies of mine that has worked on my families vehicles for years. Should be fine. I'll have it flushed and then let you guys know the outcome.
