Default problems with heat

We have a 1997 Chevy Suburban that has issues with the heat.

The rear heat works just fine, but the front heaterblows intermittently. It worked for about 2 weeks, then yesterday shut off and doesn't blow at all. This happened once before in the late fall.

I've seen lots of posts regarding the A/C and wanted to know if these were related? Or completely different?

The temp is fine, but it just doesn't blow regardless of the setting.

Thanks for any input!
